notice to all owners with runners over the 2009 melbourne cup carnival

Due to the Victoria Racing Club's Pre Selling General Admission Strategy for this year's 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival, any Registered Syndicate Members who do not qualify for complimentary general admission will need to pre purchase general admission ticketing prior to Raceday, through Ticketmaster on 1300 136 122.

These tickets may also be purchased from selected Connex train stations. For further information please contact VRC Customer Service on 1300 727 575.

Only Owners whose names are listed in the race book will be guaranteed complimentary general admission, registered syndicates can access up to a maximum of 11 general admission tickets. It is the responsibility of the Syndicate Manager to allocate all ticketing amongst the owners of the horse.

Owners wishing to bring guests on Raceday will need to ensure general admission tickets are purchased prior to Raceday.

members enclosure ticketing and mounting yard passes

Members Enclosure ticketing and Mounting Yard passes (restrictions are listed below) can be collected by the Managing Owner from VRC Head Office at 448 Epsom Road after the final fields have been released or alternatively at the Raceday & Ticketing Office on the day of the race.

Please note any ticketing collected prior to Raceday will be recorded and the information forwarded to the Raceday & Ticketing Office. Only the Managing Owner can collect ticketing on behalf of connections prior to Raceday, photo identification will be required.

The Raceday & Ticketing Office opens at the following times:

8.30am AAMI Victoria Derby Day
8.30am Emirates Melbourne Cup Day
9.00am Crown Oaks Day
9.00am Emirates Stakes Day

Please note Members Dress Regulations are strictly enforced within the Members Enclosure over the Melbourne Cup Carnival. Owners not complying with these standards will be refused entry into the Members Enclosure.

Important information for Owners:

Mounting Yard Passes are distributed on a per horse basis by using the formula - 160 / No. of runners in the race (i.e 160 / 16 = 10). Please note 'odd' numbers will be rounded down (i.e 160 / 24 = 6.66; 6 passes will be issued)
All Owners involved with winning horses will be invited to the Winners Bar to enjoy the Club's hospitality after the race presentation.
All other Owners (non-winning) will be able to enjoy the Club's hospitality in the Owners and Trainers Bar which is located directly under the Owners Seating area.

The Owners' & Trainers' Bar (situated beneath the Owners Stand) is accessible to all Owners with the correct Members Enclosure and Mounting Yard passes 20 minutes prior to the commencement of their race and 10 minutes after.

Please note that photo ID or an Owner Gold Card is essential for all owners requiring ticketing on Raceday. Owners Gold Cards will NOT be able to scan to permit free entry over the 2009 Melbourne Cup Carnival.

scratched horses

Owners of horses that are scratched are not eligible for any privileges. Discretion will be used for people that have travelled long distances.

In the case of large and/or mixed ownerships it is the responsibility of the Syndicate Manager to allocate all ticketing amongst the syndicate members for the horse.
