Owner, trainer & jockey raceday privileges

For Owners

If you are an Owner with a runner during the 2012/13 racing season at Flemington, please see below for your raceday privileges.

Owners' Entry Points at Flemington

  • Members Main Entrance (left of Phar Lap statue)
  • Flemington Train Station (Platform 1)
  • The Hill Gate (off Leonard Crescent and Platform 2)

Members Enclosure Ticketing and Mounting Yard Passes

It is the responsibility of the Syndicate Manager to collect and allocate all Members Enclosure and Mounting Yard passes on behalf of the syndicate within the horse. Please note: ticketing will NOT be issued to individual syndicate members.

Members Enclosure ticketing and Mounting Yard passes (restrictions are listed below) can be collected by the Managing Owner either:

  • from VRC Head Office after the final fields have been released 
  • at the Raceday & Ticketing Office on the day of the race.

Only the Managing Owner, with photo identification, can collect ticketing on behalf of connections prior to raceday. 

Any ticketing collected prior to raceday will be recorded and the information forwarded to the Raceday & Ticketing Office. 

The Raceday & Ticketing Office will be operational from gate opening times and will close 30 minutes after the last race.

Members Dress Regulations are strictly enforced within the Members Enclosure. Owners not complying with these standards will be refused entry into the Members Enclosure.

Mounting Yard

Important information for Owners:

  • Mounting Yard Passes are distributed on a per horse basis by using the formula - 200 divided by the No. of runners in the race (i.e 200 / 10 = 20). Please note 'odd' numbers will be rounded down (i.e 200 / 24 = 8.33; 8 passes will be issued)
  • All Owners involved with winning horses will be invited to the Winners Bar to enjoy the Club's hospitality after the race presentation.
  • All other Owners (non-winning) will be able to enjoy the Club's hospitality in the Owners and Trainers Bar which is located directly under the Owners' seating area.

Owners & Trainers Bar

The Owners & Trainers Bar (situated beneath the Owners Stand) is accessible to all Owners with the correct Members Enclosure and Mounting Yard passes 10 minutes prior to the commencement of their race and 20 minutes after.

Owners with a runner

For Owners with a runner, please present your Owners Gold Card or photo ID at an entry point to receive complimentary admission and proceed to the Raceday & Ticketing Office to obtain Members Enclosure and Mounting Yard ticketing (restrictions are listed below).

Scratched Horses

Owners of horses that are scratched are not eligible for any privileges.

Discretion will be used for people that have travelled long distances.

Large Syndicates

In the case of large and/or mixed ownerships it is the responsibility of the Syndicate Manager to allocate all ticketing amongst the syndicate members for the horse.

The Syndicate Manager MUST collect Members and Mounting Yard passes on behalf of the entire syndicate.

Individual syndicate members will not be able to collect Members or Mounting Yard passes individually.

Transferring Owners Privileges

Owners who will not be in attendance on raceday but would like to transfer their privileges onto a guest must email or fax  a signed letter of authorisation stating the race number, horse name and the name of the guest who will be in attendance no later than 1pm on the business day before the racemeeting.

A copy of this email or fax will be left at both of the following on raceday:

  • each racecourse entry point (see above)
  • the Raceday & Ticketing Office.

  • OWNERS OF HORSES THAT HAVE BEEN SCRATCHED ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ANY PRIVILEGES  (DISCRETION WILL BE USED FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE TRAVELLED LONG DISTANCES)
  • ONLY THE SYNDICATE MANAGER CAN COLLECT PASSES ON BEHALF OF THE SYNDICATE UNLESS THE CLUB IS NOTIFIED PRIOR TO RACEDAY
  • IN THE CASE OF LARGE SYNDICATES IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT THE SYNDICATE MANAGER CONTACTS THE CLUB PRIOR TO RACEDAY PROVIDING THE NAMES OF ATTENDING SYNDICATE MEMBERS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE RACEDAY TICKETING SUBJECT TO THE ABOVE POLICY
  • OWNERS NOT IN ATTENDANCE  ARE UNABLE TO HAVE THEIR PRIVILEGES TRANSFERRED UNLESS WRITTEN AUTHORISATION IS RECEIVED BY THE CLUB PRIOR TO RACEDAY
  • LIMITED PARKING WILL BE AVAILABLE TO OWNERS CAR PASS HOLDERS AT THE REAR OF THE MEMBERS UNRESERVED CAR PARK

For Trainers and Jockeys

All trainers and jockeys who have a runner on raceday are entitled to two complimentary Members’ Enclosure Daily Passes.

These can be collected from VRC Head Office after the final fields have been released or at the Raceday & Ticketing Office on raceday.
